Bo, the World Famous Retriever

Bo, the six-month-old black Labrador retriever, left in Mrs. Barnett's care while her son is in Alaska, makes dramatic changes in the woman's life. The adorable Lab introduces her to four teenagers who help the senior citizen adjust to her new lifestyle. Mrs. Barnett handles the pup's habit of chewing up shoes& running off with things by herself. However, when Bo starts bringing home peoples' belongings& tearing up property, she immediately telephones her son. I don't need all of these newspapers, she explained. What do you mean it will give me a chance to meet my neighbors? In another telephone call she tells her son - Your dog has torn up his dog house& scattered it all over the yard. Mrs. Barnett's telephone calls become more frequent as the dog's extraordinary behavior prompts her into returning newspapers every evening, becoming involved in community projects, acquiring new friends,& helping the police chief solve a mystery.
